There
is a rope that runs along my thigh
just underneath the skin
mostly its soft and red
but sometimes
when its cold
it darkens and hardens.
I
run my fingers over it often
and imagine it coming out of me
like a thorn

Still Moving (some
notes)
Movement vs. stasis in the body (& the mind) ... considered through the
anthropocentric qualities of certain materials (bronze, resin, paper, video,
clay) ... to form odd sculptural juxtapositions ... bringing together both psychological
and material concerns // moving at a glacial pace, gravity-defying // ‘Still
Moving’ – a continuum of motion, but also a paradox: still (motionless)
vs. moving (mobile)
‘still’ – up to and including the present (ie. “even
now”); also – to quieten, become still // stasis as a kind of personal
hell // 'Pause' - momentary suspension
